QUESTION

Do I have a case?

More details to this question:
About 3 weeks ago my 1 year old went in for oral surgery due to a disease he had with his teeth. We were aware that the dentist would be pulling teeth that were abscessed, and capping some, and informed that he could pull any other teeth he felt NEEDED to be pulled. My son comes out of surgery (my 1 year old son) with his front two teeth missing, and they were perfectly healthy. Even the dentist says they were perfectly healthy he only pulled them for "cosmetic reasons" because he didnt want him (my ONE YEAR OLD) to and I quote "look like a bunny rabbit because they had to pull the laterals which were abscessed". We were never informed that they may do any pulling of healthy teeth for cosmetic reasons, my son had few healthy teeth as is. I might also add that as soon as surgery was done, there was no procedures to making sure my son haf no reaction to anesthetic. In fact the nurse rushing me out the door kept lifting my sons head up because it kept falling.

Because of the costs involved, most lawyers will not file a medical malpractice lawsuit unless the patient suffers a permanent impairment.  While the dentist should have consulted you before he pulled them, since your son would have lost his front teeth eventually anyway, I do not see any permanent injuries.
