More details to this question:
I had post menopausal spotting gyno ordered ultrasound with her tech and scared the heck outa me with her findings. Abnormal thick uterine wall and polyps. She told me she needed to do a D&C immediately. Post op nurse told me I had no polyps at all when I woke up. Post op visit Gyno reluctantly told me I had zero polyps and normal uterine lining and just shrugged it off. I told her angrily that I had to pay 5k out of pocket for this bs procedure. I am fuming that she did a completely unnecessary procedure, I’m sure just for the money. If anything I want my 5k back.

Not likely for several reasons, starting with the expense of an expert to addess this would exceed the money in dispute. You can file a complaint with the medical board and see what they say about the claim this was done for a cash grab, and go from there. Ultrasound is NOT an end all be all to such things as compared to a surgical examination by the physician.
