QUESTION

Do I have a case?

Asked on Jun 09th, 2014 on Medical Malpractice - Florida
More details to this question:
My father had a hernia surgery in 2006, after surgery had a heart attack. Had gallbladder removed in Feb. 2014 and surgeon nicked small intestines. Then March 7th had hernia surgery, couldn't use restroom, had another surgery on March 14th as my small intestine had flipped and had to flip it back and put in a tube. My dad was on ventilator that night. It got to the point where the Dr said if someone told us he would make it, they lied. My dad was finally released on May 26th, 2014. He was in hospital for over 2 months. He lost his job medicare has been used up. Same surgeon did all of his surgeries and now I find out he has had 5 medical malpractices against him in the past and 2 recent ones going on right now. (Feb and March 2014) My dad still has to have home health care and physical therapists come on a weekly basis.

You have no case. Your father might, but no way to tell on the facts provided. Your father should contact an attorney near you to discuss whether a medical malpractice case may exist. Typically, the starting point is someone getting a written medical opinion that the doctor malpracticed, what the malpractice was, and what the damages actually were.
