Asked on Nov 21st, 2012 on Medical Malpractice - California
More details to this question:
I am in the 12th grade. When i was in 9th grade i had warts on almost all my fingers and also on my neck and face.iwent to a dermatologist and she treated them with liquid nitrogen and that caused me to get huge blisters everywhere. The blisters caused me to get even more warts. My dermatologist said she was going to try something new which was to burn them. The procedure she performed was the most painful experience ever.it left me very noticable scars on my neck and fingers.i had to tolerate the pain because i was really desperate to get rid of the warts. The dermatologist said that it would probably hurt a little bit but it hurt really bad. Sometimes tears would come out of my eyes. My mom is a witness of everything.my mom said they made her sign a paper. She said it was in English and she doesnt understand english. It's been like 3 years since but i am still affected by the scars and the pain i felt that day.

I think that an attorney would have to have your records reviewed and have you examined to determine whether you have a viable medical malpractice case. Also, there may be a question about whether the case is financially viable depending on the nature of the scars.  If you want to investigate a malpractice case, you should contact a local medical malpractice attorney (one in your state).  They take these cases on a contingency basis which means you only have to pay if you succeed.  Additionally, initial consultations are usually free. You can use the "Find a Lawyer" service through this website to research medical malpractice attorneys.  Then, visit each attorney's website and look for a firm that has a record of successful verdicts.  Below are some articles you may find helpful.  They are written for a New Jersey audience (where I practice) but the ideas discussed in these articles usually apply in most other jurisdictions as well. Please note that by attempting to answer your question, I am not acting as your attorney. I will do nothing further to protect or preserve your interests in the absence of any additional discussion with you about this matter. John Ratkowitz, Esq.
