Wife was admitted into emergency room and with blurred vision. Vomiting and massive headache. Hospital waited over 3 hours until shift of personnel was done before doctor came to diagnose her. Doctor ordered Pic of head and informed me of suspicious black area on pic. Was going to release us with case of sinusitus. Took EKG prior to be released and found Heart out of rthym Sent to specialized hospital and was not until i talked to attending doctor there about pic and situation that her went to see pic and asked nuerlogist to come in - who diagnosed her that she had a stroke. Suregry was done and damaged piece brain was removed. She has ahd rehab and still has issues with balance, memory, and fatigue. The stroke has affected her ability to teach do to memory and fatugue issues. We feel if she had received the proper diagnosis and medical treatment the level of stroke she had could have been avoided
If the doctors agree with the statement that the delay caused unnecessary damage, then there would be a viable claim there.
