QUESTION

Do i have grounds for a case?

Asked on May 03rd, 2018 on Medical Malpractice - Connecticut
More details to this question:
I had my entire thyroid removed on March 29th. 2018. While in recovery I was told that during the procedure one of my vocal cords were severed, now I barely speak above a whisper and my voice is very horse. I'm told I'll need therapy and an additional procedure to get my voice back to at least 70%, never will I gain it all back. Thank you Lynette Floyd.

It is possible you have a medical malpractice case.  In order to know, you need to get a second medical opinion from a comparable provider who can tesify or put down in writing that the first provider acted beyond the scope of the opperation and that his opperation was not conducted within the normal standard of care.  If another comparable doctor states that the first doctor violated standards of care, you will likely have a good case.
