My mother was misdiagnosed for almost a year by her Primary Care doctor and Gi doctor over a nagging and consistent stomach pain... a simple ct scan was never ordered even though requested which would have given her a fighting chance with her current diagnosis pancreatic cancer.. now it’s too late and all that has been said is sorry... a simple ct scan from the beginning would have given her a chance and you would think a GI specialist would have known the signs... but nothing... now it’s very advanced and time was of essence with this cancer... everyone has washed their hands of this and she’s trying to hold on...
You may have a case for failure to diagnose cancer. The key question is whether an earlier diagnosis would have made a significant difference in the outcome. Pancreatic cancer can be very difficult to treat at any stage. As I indicated, the most important factor is whether an earlier diagnosis with have made a significant difference.
