QUESTION

Do you think I have a case? How do I proceed?

Asked on Mar 30th, 2012 on Medical Malpractice - Arkansas
More details to this question:
I have been going to the same psychiatric clinic since 2008 and 3 months ago I tried to contact them desperately because my doctor had written the wrong dosage on my medication (which she writes for 3 months at a time). This in turn caused me to have extreme uncontrollable rolling panic attacks, insomnia, and other severe psychological issues. I am still recovering from their mistake and their refusal to help me, which could have killed me and honestly felt like it did at times. This caused me to quit school, and it set my healing back so far that I don''t know if i will ever make back to the progress that I had made before the mistake the doctor made.

Update Your Profile
If you knowingly took the wrong dosage of the medication for three months and this contributed to your symptoms, while the doctor was negligent it is likely that you are going to be held to be responsible for your damages as well, because there were other courses of action for you to take (for example, go to another doctor). I would not prosecute the case, but contact a local personal injury attorney and run the facts by them if you want another opinion.
