My sister a former gastric bypass patient went in to have a cyst removed they ended up removing an ovary and a falopian tube as well. That was always a possibility. it was supossed to be a same day surgery but they ended having to admit her because she was in so much pain. The next afternoon they gave her a CT scan and found that her intestines had been cut during the procedure. When the surgeon went to repair the intestines he found that she had 7 cuts in her intestines and now had sepsis. it is now 13 days after second surgery and she is still on the ventilator, very sedated and very sick in the ICU. They're most likely going to have to give her a tracheostomy by friday. Everyone keeps telling us to contact an attorney but does she have a case or not? They keep saying her recovery

It sure sounds like you have reason to investigate a case with seven cuts to her intestine. To know for sure, however, an attorney will have to secure the medical records and have them reviewed by an expert. He cannot even get the medical chart while your sister is still in the hospital because hosptials have a period of time after a patient is discharged to assemble the complete record. You have some time. Deal with the medical issues right now and call an attorney when the dust settles.

If you are unable to find a lawyer who meets these qualifications within your state, sometimes you may contact an out of state lawyer who can refer you to a qualified attorney in your state while providing support related to the issues of medicine.
