QUESTION

Gall Bladder Surgery - Common Bile Duct severed causing 4 additional surgical procedures

Asked on Dec 30th, 2013 on Medical Malpractice - Florida
More details to this question:
On 8/5/2013 my 30 year old daughter went in for a simple gall bladder surgery. On 8/7/2013 - she went back to the surgeon complaining of severe abdominal pain and bloating and unable to go to the bathroom. The surgeon did not take her serious and told her "I told you there was going to be some pain". She ended up prescribing a different pain medicine. On 8/11/2013 - my daughter was taken to the Key West ER and then transported to Miami - Jackson Memorial on 8/12/13. 3 more procedures and reconstruction of her bowels was done on 8/16/13. Since the surgery she has suffered depression, anxiety and has missed out on the opportunity she had to go to Coast Guard Officer Candidate School because she is not able to pass the medical exam for at least another year which put her career path on hold. Her two year old daughter had to stay with relatives in Tampa and she was not able to see her for 19 days. She is under much distress and seeing a counselor and on meds? What can she do?
