hospital malpracticel

More details to this question:
my wife has gotten a yearly mammogram at our local hospital for the last 37 yrs & the results have always come back with negative results this year the hospital upgraded their equipment & her results came back supicious & she was referred to a diagnostic center for a biopsy & as a result she was diagnosted with stage 3 breast cancer & had to have a mastectomy & now has to undergo radiation every day for 6 or more weeks & then medication for 5 years or so i think the hospital should hAVE HAD UPDATED EQUIPMENT because i don't think the cancer could have matasized this rapidly in 1 yrs time is this something worth persuing as it has greatly affected our lifestyle & quality of life.

I am very sorry to hear about this.  You should ask her current doctor if they think it could have matasized that rapidly in the one year time period?  If they think it could not have then you should likely seek legal assistance. Cases against hospitals are difficult and you need an expert opinion (another doctor) to testify in court against the hospital.  I think it is worth you looking into  more. You should consider requesting your wife's medical records and mammogram results and views for the past couple of years and trying to set up a consultation with a local medial malpractice attorney in your area.  Best of luck!
