How do I present a complex medical malpractice case to an attorney?

There were multiple episodes of negligence, incorrect medications given, medications withheld, and possible organ perforation at surgery. Exactly how and in what order do I present this to a med. malpractice attorney?

He or she will most likely ask you to collect all of the medical records and reports together and then schedule an appointment.
