my sister was trying to fight a life threaten disease, her doctor was very dismissive with treatment thus causing her to get sicker, after several complaints to administration at the hospital they finally came down on the doctor for lack of treatment,the doctor then referred her to a special clinic that deals with the disorder that she had,but before she could even be seen at the specialty clinic I took my sister to the ER cause she was in severe pain, I had call her doctor prior to taking her to the ER and she didn't even return my call.Once being admitted she never made it back home.She had specialist from around the country consulting on her care while in the hosp and they all told our family that they have no understanding as to why this happened, and that she was failed in soooo many ways. and I know for a fact that if her doctor would have been on board with her care she would still be alive.... PLEASE HELP MY FAMILY GET JUSTICE FOR OUR LOVED ONE WE LOST WAY TO SOON
First of all, I am very sorry for your loss of your sister. The statute of limitations for medical malpractice is 2 1/2 years from the date of the malpractice, so if this happened before then, unfortunately you have no case. Assuming it happened less than 2 1/2 years ago, the only way to ascertain if malpractice was committed is to review your sister's medical records. In order to have a viable case, the doctor must have made a mistake or omission that, had it not been made, would have been treatable, with a reasonable degree of medical certainty that your sister would have survived/recovered. Only a review of the records first by an attorney and then by a doctor can answer that question.
