My husband was born with nf1 and it's a very slim chance that it could cause cancer. In January 2012 his tumor on the left side of his face by his eye began to grow rapidly. Seeking help we went to out local hospital. They walked in did not put gloves on did not touch it or even look at it and simply replied "it's a cyst it'll go away". The tumor continued to grow it got to the size of a softball. Could you imagine having a softball size tumor on your face? Well the tumor was still bothering him effecting his eye sight, and giving excruciating head aches. We went back hoping for help once again they did nothing. We went elsewhere only to find out he now has stage 4 sarcoma cancer. This could have been prevented if only the hospital pulled his file and seen he had nf1 they failed to do there job and now my husbands life is on the line.
