QUESTION

I was molested by a physician, what should I do?

Asked on May 28th, 2014 on Medical Malpractice - Texas
More details to this question:
On 5/28 I visited a doctor for the first time with the intent of establishing care and obtaining a referral to a GI doctor for past abdominal issues. I was told by the medical assistant to put on a gown and leave my bra on. The doctor came in and immediately I was feeling uncomfortable because he said very little while I explained the reason for being there. He then told me to get on the table and he proceeded to put his hands up my gown and under my bra. This went on for a couple of minutes. He did not tell me ahead of time that he was doing this and there was no one in the room with us. I was not told nor did I ask for a breast exam. I felt violated and scared, I left there crying and shaking uncontrollably.

I am so sorry to hear about this.  My recommendation would be to contact the Texas Medical Board and inquire about filing a complaint.   Here is a link to their website, with some FAQ's and their contact information.  https://www.tmb.state.tx.us/page/consumer In addition, you may want to consider reporting this to your local police department to discuss your options.   NOTE:  This response is general in nature and should not be considered legal advice.  No attorney-client relationship exists or is formed by this response.
