I saw two different Neurological surgeons at UW Hospital in Madison to evaluate my options for surgical evaluation. I was informed by the first that I would have a metal plate put in my head and then came up with a crazy theory of "It's milk due to the pasteurization process." The second one tells me that all three of my seizures that were successfully shown compared to the first time I didn't have any seizures. I was told that they weren't Epileptic seizures and therefore they could do nothing for me. I recently seen my own neurologist and he even said that they were Epileptic seizures. Would I have a case to go against UW Hospital?
Medical malpractice cases are nearly extinct in the state of WI. I wrote a blog about this very topic at our law firm's web site under personal injury issues. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel did an excellent article about it last year as well. If you feel strongly that you were harmed and have significant damages, gather up all of your medical and hospital records and have them reviewed by a lawyer. If the lawyer feels you have a viable case, they will hire a medical expert to review the records to determine if there is a malpractice. The statute of limitations in WI to sue for medical malpractice is three years. Failure to file a lawsuit within three years from the date of the occurrence, will otherwise forever bar your claim.
