QUESTION

Is negligence malpractice?

More details to this question:
My dad went to the ER multiple times over a few weeks complaining about back pain, they told him he slipped a disc and gave him pills. He kept losing weight and the pills didn't help the pain very much so he kept going back and they would just give him more pills and send him off without taking any tests. One day he just kind of collapsed and we had to call an ambulance, and demand tests. Turned out to be cancer and about 2 weeks later he was gone.

Sad to say uner these facts not likely a finaincinally viable med-mal claim simply because the damages are not likely there. Unless it was some speicific form of cancer that metatasizes in 2 weeks or could be controlled in such a period to have a significant life extension is it likely this was a long standing process. If you wanted to spend the money hiring experts and a med-mal lawyer to review the information, some people do to simply have the solacing of knowing for sure, you can do so as you like.
