QUESTION

Is there anything I can do about a botched biopsy

More details to this question:
Hi, I am the victim of a botched biopsy at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. During the biopsy a vein/artery was nicked and my leg filled with what I was told was 2 pints of blood. This happened on 7/23/13, I was told everything went well despite the major swelling and unbearable pain and that I would be "good as new" in a day or 2. It has been 6 weeks, my leg still is not right, I have lost one job because of this and will most likely lose my new job I got just before the procedure. I forgot to mention my cancer Doctor who ordered the biopsy informed me the following week that I never should have been allowed to go home because of the risk of clotting and compartment syndrome and possible death. As of now I have lost $6000+ in wages, suffered 4-5 weeks of pain that words can't describe and major depression. I was told by an attorney in Mass. that nothing could be done because there seems to be no permanent damage

I think the attorney was probably right. Links below explain the problem of financial viability in more detail. Obviously the outcome is still unknown because you are still dealing with things medically, so things could change, but if the outcome turns out as you everyone is expecting, you probably do not have a case that an attorney would undertake.  Click here for an article that discusses the three main questions I ask when deciding whether to investigate a potential medical malpractice case.
