You have a case worth investigating. The question is whether the stroke was en embolic stroke or an ischemic stroke. If the surgeon told you that your husband suffered a stroke because his blood pressure went too low during the surgery, then the person who made the mistake was likely the anesthesiologist. Anesthesiologists practice deliberate hypotension during lengthly procedures. They intentionally keep blood pressure low to minimize bleeding. When they miscalculate, however, this can cause the kind of complication your husband suffered.
