QUESTION

Neurosurgeon failing to follow standard practice

Asked on Feb 26th, 2013 on Medical Malpractice - Tennessee
More details to this question:
My wife had an aneurysm on her brain. The surgeon failed to provide blood supply to the skull and the flap of scull died. Accepted practice is to implant the piece of skull into her side and secure blood flow. She ended up with a large depression on her face. Is this a valid matter for filing a suit?

If your wife's surgeon failed to follow to provide a "standard of care" and exercise the degree of care that a reasonably prudent surgeon with the same degree of care, skill and learning would have provided, you may have a valid claim for medical malpractice. We recommend that you consult with a medical malpractice attorney near you.
