Seeing if my mother has a case again

More details to this question:
My mother has LAM lung disease (lymphangioleiomyomatosis) which she sees a specialist for already but the issue is 3 years ago they said they seen something on a scan but said it was nothing and now she finds out it is cancer and 3 years have been wasted that if they looked into it 3 years ago and diagnosed her properly and started treatment it might not of gone as far as it did.

It is possible.  A malpractice case for a failure to diagnose cancer depends on the cancer staging and the progression of the disease.  If your mother lost a significant chance of being cancer free or had a significant reduction in her chances of living, usually referred to as the 5-year survival rate, then she may have a case.
