QUESTION

statute of limitations question

Asked on Jan 27th, 2020 on Medical Malpractice - Florida
More details to this question:
In FL the statute of limitations is two years for medical malpractice and negligence as is my case. Does the clock start ticking from the date I knew that there was really a problem (that was neglected and I was told it would go away until the 2 years had almost run out) and another Dr told me that it should have been addressed within six months of surgery or two years from the original date of surgery? Also I filed the 90 day extension and they delayed any talks until that is almost expired. I am filing an letter of intent to sue.. do I also have to initiate a lawsuit in court before the 90 days are up to find an Attorney who wants to go up against a UF affiliate (even after their insurance has now agreed to pay for surgery .. to be done by the same Dr. only.. to find out why I have been in pain for two years and know that the numbness of on ear is 99 likely permanent due to neglect delaying for the statute to run).. no Attorney will have the time to file with my deadline.

If by "I" you mean you are trying to handle a medical malpractice suit on your own, that is a fool's folly. If you have a lawyer, then THEY should be addressing these questions, and if not, you need to retain one ASAP.
