Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy-Serious Repercussions!

My son had the VSG one yr ago-he has been suffering severe intractable pain, loss of feeling in his legs,feet, hands, veins enlarged in his hands and legs, muscle wasting, unable to eat..lost 155 pounds...cannot function,he is a prof. at a NJ Univ. he is on 29 yrs old and is disabled..There are no longitudinal studies--a research institute in NYC discovered that if too much of the stomach is removed(he had 85% removed for weight loss) B12 and other vitamins do not feed his body and brain..he is deteriorating medically and is unable to work or function....I am trying to get in into a program at NIH for an evaluation...it seems as if the surgeon took too much of the stomach out....he is not getting the nutrition he needs and he is being starved of vitamins and minerals...oral replacement does not work....please advise....

Acquire a copy of his medical chart and consult an attorney and another bariatric surgeon to determine if malpractice has been committed. All surgeries has risk associated with them so a lot depends on the details.
