Antibiotics in the same class as Cipro, known as fluoroquinolones, can sometimes cause seizures in people who have epilepsy as well as in others who are at risk of seizures because of prior head trauma, stroke or tumor or a family history of seizures. All medications involve some risk, and the mere fact that you had a negative reaction to one does not mean the physician prescribing it committed medical malpractice. I would not take your case, but if you have questions you should contact a local medical malpractice attorney.
