QUESTION

Arm crush in machine and lose of thumb

Asked on Oct 05th, 2015 on Personal Injury - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
My wife was working for a company on a metal press. The machine somehow came down and crushed her arm and she lost her right thumb. I got her a lawyer who told her she had a slam dunk case and would be getting about 7million for her injury. He hired a mechanic to prove that the machine malfunctioned, but he could not find a way to make the machine malfunction. Now he is telling my wife that she doesn't have a case. All the operations and pain and suffering that she has gone through and the surgeries that she will still need and he all of a sudden is telling her she doesn't have a case. With all the safety switches and things on the machine to prevent what happen and it still happened. She has been doing nothing but crying. She keeps saying, my arm was crushed and I lost my thumb and I DON'T have a case ? This is ridiculous. I don't know what to tell her or what to do. Should I find another lawyer ? This happened in Pa. and they say you can't sue your employer, or machine maker.
