Got in a fender bender in June 2022 but at the time I didn’t have insurance. So I just paid in cash to fix my car and I’m assuming the other guy did too. A couple months later I get a letter saying that I need to pay $9000 for the damages they incurred…but I don’t think the crash was my fault and his insurance had covered a car rental while mine was in the shop but then revoked their official claim investigation and I ended up returning the car of course. I just want to be prepared in case I am involved in some kind of legal battle?
