QUESTION

Can I fo an out of state deposition

Asked on Jan 02nd, 2014 on Automobile Accidents - New York
More details to this question:
I had an auto accident that was my fault in NY in 2011. In 2012 I moved to MO. I received a letter from my lawyer saying that I need to appear for a deposition in Feb 2014. I cannot afford to travel to NY for this. Are there any other possible ways that I can answer their questions without me being there? Can I do an out of state deposition?

You need to explain this to your insurance company's lawyer, but be careful- the failure to cooperate can possibly lead to your carrier disclaiming, either in your representation and/or your indemnification. Gerry Wendrovsky, Esq.- Upper West Side Lawyer www.upperwestsidelawyer.com
