Can I get Money from Settling?

More details to this question:
I was in a car accident several months ago and my back is still sore from it. I am young and have no doubt that I will heal up in the future. But for now it bothers me at work and I would like some compensation. I don't want to draw this out but I would like something for the trouble. I am just wondering if I can get anything from settling and if so, what is a reasonable amount?

You are certainly entitled to compensation for your injuries but I would not and could not evaluate your claim without more information.
