Can I hire an attorney for just an auto accident deposition and what happens at this deposition?

I was hit by driver making a left turn onto a cross street. I was driving straight when driver failed to wait until traffic was clear before making a left turn. Driver hit front driver side corner of my vehicle. It happened around sunset (FL) and I had my park lights on. Police wrote as verbal warning on report for not having on my headlights. Other drivers insurance said they’re insured was 90% at fault & 10% me due to no headlights in police report. Other driver filed Civil Complaint on me for $30,000 in bodily injury claiming I was negligent and failed to operate my vehicle in a safe manner. I filed a response disagreeing with the complaint. His lawyer is now asking to schedule a deposition.
