Unless I completely misunderstand your question, the answer is NO. Unemployment means that you are ready, willing and able to work, but that you have been laid off and cannot find other work. Workers compensation means that you are disabled due to injuries sustained while at work. So, if you got unemployment, then you lied about being able to work. If you now apply for workers compensation, you could put yourself into a criminal problem.

I'm not certain what you are asking. Workers' compensation in Iowa pays weekly benefits as a "cash" payment. If you're asking about cashing out a settlement or an award, that is a completely different question to be answered. I see you are getting or were approved for unemployment benefits; you can't receive both workers' compensation and unemployment benefits although you may be able to if the wc benefits you're receiving are part of an industrial disability award.

If you have a permanent injury, you may be able to get a "schedule award" which is based on a formula depending on the extent of your disability and your rate of pay, offset by payments you have already received.

You usually can't receive both at the same time. Check with an experienced workers compensation attorney.

In PA, workers' compensation benefits are payable for work-related injuries. If you are already collecting unemployment benefits, then the workers' compensation beneftis will be reduced on a dollar for dollar basis by the after tax receipt of unemployment benefits.
