Can I recover damages for injuries suffered

Three days ago...I was walking down a stair well in a four-plex and my foot slipped off the stairs . My knees hit the wall swelling and hurting in which the pain is getting worse. I need to go to the doctor my knees are extremely painful right now the swelling has went down the pain feel internal. The stair well was two stories which did not have ANY lighting what so ever causing me to not see the stair in front of me. I tried to catch myself but could not in time so when I fell my jaw hit the floor causing my back upper right ( your left view) roof and jaw to ache tremendously. I have emailed my dentist for this pain and need a doctor for my knee. My PCP is booked.
