You should contact a Maryland workers compensation attorney. He will provide you with a free consultation and advise you what your rights are. I disagree with the conclusion that your injuries weren't work-related. They would never happen if you did not have to report to work and be on your feet.
I think when you speak to a local workers compensation attorney he will tell you that any cause of action (beyond the workers compensation claim) against the employer will be barred, but that does not mean that you have to accept their decision on the workers compensation claim.
