My sons father works in the area I live in and decided he was going to come by and see if I was home. I was on my way out and he just happened to be heading towards me on the side street next to my house and he dropped his phone and veered off the road into my lane. He hit the front driver side of my car with the front driver side of his car. I had our 4 year old in the car at the time. It was a complete coincidence and he has a crazy girlfriend that would freak if she knew he was coming to see me so he didnt tell his insurance he knew me. Neither did I. This happened back in May 2019 and they paid to fix my car, they paid my sons lawsuit and mine is pending. An investigator called my ex and they wanted to meet with him. He went to the meeting put him under oat and asked if he knew me. He said he did and that he didnt say anything because of his girlfriend. Can they deny my claim for failure to say you know the other driver?
The short answer to your question is no. However, you should always tell the truth in a statemnt to an insurance company. Failing do do so could e deemed "failure to cooperate", which gives your insurance company an excuse to deny your claim.
