More details to this question:
We came out of Olive Garden and when my wife stepped off the curb she stepped on a crack that was on the curb, fell and broke her hip. There was no rail, it was poorly lit and no warning about the curb. Gave the manager all our personal information and the following day answered questions over the phone about the incident.

Yes you have a case. Don't give out any information when their insurance representative calls you (and they will) but feel free to get information. If you haven't done so, make sure you get photos of exactly where your wife fell, at the same time of day with the same lighting.
