car accident

More details to this question:
if I sold a car to a guy and he never put it in his name then it gets hit by another car while on the road in front of his house and the person who hit the car insurance is paying for the car cuz its totaled now, so I was wondering since in the computer it says im the legal and registered owner if I get the check from the insurance company

The short answer is no. If you sold the car, it belongs to the guy you sold it to regardless of whether or not he changed the registration.
