QUESTION

Car accident settlement

Asked on Apr 12th, 2014 on Personal Injury - Connecticut
More details to this question:
I was in a car accident - hit head on by a driver high on drugs. He came into my lane, hit me, my car flipped and I had to be extricated from my vehicle. The driver was arrested at the scene. I missed 1 week of work. I have already been compensated for my vehicle. The other drivers insurance has offered me $6000 to settle - this includes 1 weeks work ($840), medical expenses ($100) and pain and suffering. I was banged up, cut up and burned my hand. I have healed and the only problem I have is anxiety when driving. Medically I have recovered. Is this amount reasonable and close to what I should expect or would i benefit from hiring an attorney?
