Car was totaled by another vehicle insurance deemed the car a total loss but offered low compensation and currently leave me with no vehicle to get to work and medical appointments

You are in a tough situation and I don't know how to get you out of it. If you are offered car rental then this might help you. If you and the insurance company can not agree, then you can go to General Sessions Court to let the judge decide.
