QUESTION

Changing attorney in middle of case

Asked on Jun 01st, 2018 on Personal Injury - Tennessee
More details to this question:
One of my parents fell about 4 yrs ago at a major venue. The chair was broken when parent went to sit down. There were witnesses. As a result parent had gone thru yrs of pain and had to have surgery. The atty used is VERY difficult to get in touch with and doesn’t provide regular feedback on the case. If fact, they no longer have admins, etc to help with cases. Initially the surgeon did acknowledge that surgery was due to the fall. Atty went to the dr with parent when the dr stated that but the atty didn’t document or record the conversation. Now the atty is saying that the dr changed his story at the deposition and they are trying to settle a large case for less than $10,000. We have asked for a copy of the deposition but have yet to receive. Are clients allowed a copy? Really want to get another atty. what are our options ?

The client is entitled to receive a copy of all documents related to the case, including a copy of the deposition. You would need to call around to schedule an appointment with another attorney to discuss possibly taking the case.
