QUESTION

curious question

More details to this question:
I went to the hospital not feeling well they did a cat scan and didn't really tell me anything about what was wrong they wanted me to wait and they were very busy but I didn't want to wait that long so I asked the nurse if I would be ok if I left and it took her a matter of mins to have me sign a paper and the nurse said I could leave she never asked the Doctor or anyone else and told me to leave lucky for me I decided to go to another hospital where I found out I was sick with a life threatening condition what I can't shake is the fact the nurse didn't even ask the Doctor if it was alright if I leave and I'm sure the Doctor would have said you could die if you leave. I find it hard to believe that the nurse didn't check with the Doctor first or at least tell me how sick I was and I needed to be in the hospital...makes me mad the nurse wouldn't check and be sure I would be ok if I left. mostly I don't want her to do that again and put other lifes at risk.

You're a grown adult. If you want to leave, its your right. They told you to stay but you dind't want to wait. Its not any nursing staff job to force you to stay to find out the test results. You see now why you should have stayed until the doctor reviewed your results and chart, in the first place. You can report this to the hopsital risk management if you like and see what they think.
