Wife was in an accident she gave the guy her insurance information he said he was going to get his. my wife went to her car and he took off my wife called the local police the officer showed up said that it was a local high school coach they would call him and get his information or try to get him to come back. My wife asked the cop if that was legal he said yes as long as they got his statement

When I have a case like this, I send a demand letter to the other party requesting insurance information and threaten a law suit if there is not a response within a reasonable time (usually 7 days). Then it is just like any other injury case where we work with the insurance company to get paid for the injuries and damage. If there is no insurance we make a claim under your policy for uninsured motorist.
