More details to this question:
i was in a big car accident where a car hit me from behind. i contracted this lawyer but so far he has seemed to avoid contacting me. i have left multiple text messages and phone calls. he will answer only rarely. he will not let me take home any documentation he has. i also fear he has already settled the amount owed by the insurance company because he is already going through with hospital reductions. i did not authorize him to make any settlement decisions. he wont answer back even when he just got done texting me. i still havnt recieved wages lost and only have recieved my car insurance check. what are my options?

You can fire the lawyer for good cause and get a lawyer that you trust and can communicate with.
