My husband and I came to Ft. Worth for Christmas with my son's family (2 kids). When we checked in, we asked if there was a room with 2 beds so our grandkids could spend the night with us. They offered us a handicap room as being the only available 2 bed room. We accepted. The morning of 12/21/13, I got into the handicap TUB for a shower. I did not realize that the INTERIOR OF THE TUB was much higher off the floor than normal. When I stepped OUT of the tub, onto the tile floor, the floor was about 6" lower than the interior of the tub and I fell as someone would who had missed a step. I fell hard on the tile, broke one foot and pulled a tendon in the other. We went to the ER, have incurred medical bills, missed out on our holiday time and I have been in a cast on one foot and a brace on the other since 12/21. My life has come to a stop. My husband and I were in the midst of building a new home in the country, but for now I'm wheelchair bound. I am a YOUNG 66 year old. Please advis
Yes a Texas licensed attorney would need to be hired for this case. It is not an easy case, however, as the jury will be told to apportion fault on you, and you will likely need an expert to testify as to the unsafe design of the bathroom. Act swiftly, before they change the room and destroy your evidence.
