Do I still need to send medical authorization?

Asked on Jan 25th, 2016 on Personal Injury - Kentucky
More details to this question:
We were rear-ended in October. After sending two demand letters, the insurance company finally sends a medical authorization. I get the records myself and send them, but they say they still need the authorization. Do I need to send this?

You are not required to provide an authorization to them. Ask them which records they are missing and either sign the authorization or, preferably, get them yourself. If you are receiving ongoing medical care then you should not settle with them until you reach Maximum Medical Improvement. You should be aware that the value of your claim can be increased substantially simply by having an attorney represent you.
