I am sorry for your loss.  That is a terrible tragedy.  Most, if not all, lawyers doing personal injury will take the case on a contingency fee basis.  This means that the fee is taken out at the end of the case, and is governed by a statute that says the attorney is entitled to a maximum 1/3 fee.  If its personal injury to a minor, then the fee is slightly less.  You should consult with a lawyer and have this matter pursued.  If I can be of any assistance, please call my office.
