Dear Anonymous:
I am sorry to hear of this misfortune at Walmart. The answer to "what do I do" may be too complex to cover in this short space. Because Walmart does not have the best track record for dealing with individuals proceeding with an injury claim without legal counsel, it would probably be within your best interests to contact an experienced personal injury lawyer or law firm to provide information that would assist the lawyer or firm in determining the prospects of bringing a negligence claim against Walmart.
The nature of your complaint would likely be a "premises liability claim." These can be difficult to prove because often the business owners and managers possess all of the relevant information as to their premises. However, if the incident happened recently, it is vital that a factual investigation be undertaken as soon as possible, as some evidence (e.g. the fallen shelf; store surveillance footage) may still be available for preservation and inspection.
Premises liability cases can also be challenging because they require an expert to assist in establishing the standard of care for a big-box retailer, even where it may seem clear what went wrong. If your physical injuries have risen to the level of serious concern for you, then you should not hesitate to contact an attorney's office to discuss the pros and cons of bringing a claim against Walmart. To that end, my staff would be happy to learn more about your incident if you would like.
Best regards,
