QUESTION

Higher liability as a teacher?

Asked on Sep 15th, 2014 on Automobile Accidents - New Jersey
More details to this question:
If I have a car accident and I'm at fault, I'm liable for the passengers in my car and they can sue me for damages. If I'm teaching an outdoors photography class to adult students and I offer them a ride to the train station is my level ofC increased because they are my students or is it the same? Thanks for the help

No, I do not believe your being a teacher will have any impact on the liability you bear in an auto accident.  However, if you do this transporting on a regular basis, you may want to consider making this known to your insurance carrier so they do not decline coverage and take the position that you are using your car in association with your "job"....
