More details to this question:
My mother, sister, and I have all been involved in a hit and run car accident. A car hit our car and they did not stop even after we followed them. We went to the police and filed a report. We also got therapy done on the injuries from the accident. However, the lawyer has done close to nothing for our case.

you may be able to collect from your own insurance company if you have UM/UIM which is uninsured, underinsured motorists coverage. Also each of your passengers may be able to access their own car insurance if they were injured.
