QUESTION

how can I change my lawyer

Asked on Sep 24th, 2014 on Automobile Accidents - Virginia
More details to this question:
I was involved in a car accident where my wife and i were rear ended by a tractor trailer. it happen in Oct 2013. we both were injured and are still having difficuties with our shoulders. Our currently lawyer advised us to settle with some of the stranges reasons. siting location where we would have to file and about us being minorities may effect a judgement in this locality. But what really was the last straw was when he said there was no police report of the accident. Not only was there a police report but also pictures of out vehicle front & back where the tractor trailer hit us and pushed us into another vehicle. in Ten months he had not even looked up the Highway protrolman's report.

Update Your Profile
You have the right to change lawyers at anytime.  All you have to do is to hire a new lawyer and your new lawyer will on your behalf notify your current lawyer that you are discharging your current lawyer and hiring your new lawyer.  Your new lawyer and current lawyer will work out a fee division between both lawyers. Some of the issues raised by your current lawyer (e.g. location, being a minority) are factors that effect the value of a claim/judgment. Good luck with this matter.
