What you where told is not correct. The amount of insurance available is a factor to consider but, by itself, is not determinative of the value of a case. It takes an attorney with experience to consider insurance, fault, damages, applicable law, venue, and several other factors. Ultimately your case is worth what it settles for or what a jury awards - everything else is only an estimate or best guess.
