QUESTION

How do I deal with a hit and run case?

Asked on Nov 05th, 2012 on Automobile Accidents - Louisiana
More details to this question:
This incident was happened last week. I have not realized that my car was hit next to my car while moving in the signal. So I was driving as usual. Also the opponent did not blow horn or gave any kind of indication to stop. So I thought there was not any problem. I have two citations and jailed for hit and run case and paid whopping amount for bail bond. Please advise me to get out of this case. Advance thanks for your valuable suggestions.

You report it to your insurance company. If i they pay the damage before court the DA may dismiss the charges. He may not but most Da's are too busy with important cases (DWI) to worry about small property damage.

So sorry, but I am not quite sure what you are asking. Were you the driver of a vehicle that struck another vehicle and kept going? Or was your car hit by another vehicle that kept going? Have you contacted the police? Have you contacted your insurance company? If you are the driver who struck another vehicle, then you need to consult with a criminal defense attorney to discuss your options.
